In March 2011 the board of the joint venture partners, Mercy Health and St Vincents Health Australia, agreed that St Vincents & Mercy Private was best placed to grow and develop within the wider private hospital network of St Vincents Health Australia under a single ownership structure. Dr Tracey Batten, CEO St Vincents Health Australia, in announcing the decision assured each staff member, patient and support of St Vincents & Mercy Private that the important aspects of day to day running and operation of the health service would remain "business as usual".

Electronic Foetal Surveillance

The Maternity Care Unit has recently acquired the Philips OB TraceVue to enhance the safe delivery of care to our Mothers and babies.

The OB TraceVue is a web enabled patient-focused obstetrical information system.

This surveillance system provides continuous trace displays of foetal and mother during the antenatal and intrapartum period.

With its cordless transducers, the technology is designed to assist Mother’s comfort within a safe environment and contribute to improved staff efficiency.

It can be accessed wherever patient information is needed – from patient bedside and delivery room, central station, nurse lounge, and Obstetrician’s home or office.

It provides basic and advanced foetal trace alerting, making clinicians immediately aware of critical events.

With its archiving functionality, patient information data can be stored for up to 30 years.
