Who is eligible?
The Graduate Nurse Program is offered to recent nursing graduates who have completed a Bachelor of Nursing Program and who have successfully gained registration as a Division One registered Nurse within the past twelve months.
Aims of the Program
The overall aim of the program is to facilitate the transition from student to registered Nurse. This is achieved by encouraging:
- Transfer of existing knowledge in to quality patient outcomes
- Development of competence ands skill base
- Increased capacity to work collaboratively and independently
- Reflective practice
3 x 4 month rotations will allow graduates to enhance decision making skills and critical thinking skills across abroad clinical mix.

- Intensive Care
- Orthopaedics
- Thoracis
- ENT
- Vascular
- Urology
- Gynaecology

- Cardiac Unit
- Colorectal/Hepaticobiliary

- Day Procedure Unit
- Cardiac/Vascular Catheter Laboratory
- Oncology/Haematology

Clinical Support
Our graduates receive extensive clinical support on each rotation. You will be allocated a preceptor, and clinical coach and education consultant. You receive supernumery time on each rotation and to assist in the transition from student to graduate, you receive a graduated workload on your first ward rotation.
We offer an extensive education program, including a minimum of 6 paid study days as well as access to free ward based education, twilight seminars and short courses.

- Succinct Curriculum Vitae, with two referees, one of whom must be from an acute care placement
- A copy of academic results with legend
- Copies of most recent medical/surgical clinical assessments
