Oncology and haematology

Our oncology unit offers complete service for patients with cancer. We aim to provide a high standard of professional care in a caring, educational environment where patients and their carers can seek support and information about their medical condition.

Our experienced nursing staff have excellent cannulation skills and VADS knowledge. Imaging, pathology, specialist referrals and casualty at the public hospital support our oncology unit.

The unit provides;

  • chemotherapy and associated treatments,
  • transfusions: - blood, platlet , intragam, infusions: APDiron, venepuncture, venesection,
  • procedures : bone marrow biopsy, abdominal & pleural aspiration, management of synchromed, isomed, walkman, CADD-1, grasby pumps, management of venous access devices including infusa ports, Hickman lines, PICC lines, hepatic and peritoneal ports, hepatic artery catheters, and palliative care support.

The day oncology units service the private oncology patients who had their surgery at this hospital, or are managed by our specialist consultants.

The main feature of the day oncology service is the collocation of the oncologists consulting rooms.
