St Vincents & Mercy Private Hospital is proud to have been approved as Endorsed Providers of General Practitioner education with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in their internationally recognised Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development (QA&CPD) Program for the 2005-2007 triennium.

We are a hospital with a strong tradition of successfully combining the latest healthcare technology with patient care based on high standards of compassionate medical, nursing, allied health and pastoral care.

We believe that the General Practitioner (GP) is pivotal in the continuum of patient care and we aim to assist GP’s to maintain and improve the quality of care they give to their patients by providing up to date information about the latest developments in health care and disease management.

Our program also aims to promote a strong link and line of open communication between referring GP’s, the hospital and our surgeons and physicians.

Our program is structured to meet specific GP needs, is based on principles of interactive adult education and serves to reinforce GP knowledge and skills.

Our program is subject to a continual quality review process to ensure quality improvement and high standards of GP education. We welcome GP feedback at each of our forums and we encourage GP’s to contact us to discuss either positive or adverse educational experiences with regard to our program.
