The goal of the Education & Professional Development Unit is facilitate ongoing training and education for all staff at the hospital.
With a team of 27 education consultants and clinical coaches, together with administrative support, the unit offers multi-disciplinary educational opportunities throughout the organisation.
The education consultants have an important role developing programs and co-ordinating of specific courses. Clinical coaches are ward based and act as role models/mentors to guide and support staff to achieve best clinical practice with a focus on graduate nurses/undergraduates, new and existing staff.
In addition to the Graduate Nurse Program and the Division One and Division Two program, we collaborate with universities to provide a range of undergraduate clinical placements and post graduate studies in critical care, perioperative, midwifery, plastics and reconstructive nursing and neurosciences.
There are a number of opportunities for nurses at all levels to develop their career within St Vincents & Mercy Private Hospital. The following programs are just a few of the career opportunities we offer our employees.
