Undertaken over two years, the Division Two traineeship gives participants the fantastic opportunity to combine nursing theory and practical experience while receiving a full-time trainee wage, culminating in a Certificate IV in Nursing.
Participants complete an initial three weeks of nursing theory, then follow through with one day a week at university, and four days a week in the acute care clinical situation for the remainder of the two years. Currently clinical rotations are of 12 months duration.
Intakes for traineeships are currently once per year, in conjunction with the intake for traineeships at a local TAFE organisation. Intakes are currently mid-year. We currently accept eight participants per intake, and these applicants must also be accepted by the university. The university requires the participant to pass a Vetassess examination prior to acceptance to the course.
Positions are advertised on the hospital website and on www.seek.com.au and applications are accepted via E-Recruit. Applications must include a cover letter, resume and the contact details of two professional referees.
